Christian’s Journey to Reflective Practice

 

After completing his training at The University of Hertfordshire and graduating in 1996 as a dramatherapist, Christian specialised in working with children and young people in schools, later transitioning to working with adults facing complex mental health challenges at Charing Cross and Middlesex psychiatric hospitals. With over 28 years of experience, Christian has addressed a broad spectrum of issues, including eating disorders, relationship difficulties, neurodivergence, racism, gender issues, sexuality, all forms of abuse, self-harm, suicidal ideations, depression, anxieties, phobias, PTSD, narcissism, and bullying.

Christian Dixon completed his professional training to become a qualified Clinical Supervisor at The Royal Central School of Speech & Drama on their CAST training programme. He is regulated by The Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC), a full member of the British Association for Dramatherapists, and a fellow of The Royal Society of Arts. These credentials underscore his commitment to maintaining the highest standards of professional practice. He is also working with the Reflective Practice department with drama schools to help professional acting students.

FAQ

  • If l book multiple sessions in advance will l get a discount?
    Yes. If you book 10 or more sessions in advance you will receive a 5% discount from the overall fee.
  • Can l cancel my contract at anytime?
    Yes
  • Can I record my session?
    No. You may take notes or screenshots or photos of any art work created and your Clinical Supervisor may do the same.
  • Where will you store information about my clients/patients or staff members?
    Securely and password protected in the cloud. All names will be anonymous.
  • How do l make a complaint about my Clinical Supervisor?
    First, always talk to your Clinical Supervisor. If you are still unhappy and wish to take your complaint further then, secondly you may contact next HCPC (The Health & Care Professions Council.)
  • Is there a contract?
    Yes. Once you and your supervisor are happy to book a full hour session/s you will be sent a contract to complete and sign via email.
  • How much notice do l have to give in order to cancel a session without charge?
    72 hours. If you give notice to cancel less than 72 hours you will not be refunded
  • If a complaint is made against me during my practice will you still support me as my Clinical Supervisor?
    Yes. In most cases you will be given full support. Your contract would only be terminated by your Clinical Supervisor if you committed a serious criminal offence or were found to be guilty in a court of law or tribunal.
  • Can l book my first 1hr Clinical Supervision session instead of a Consultation session?
    No. You must have completed a Consultation session prior to agreeing to start your Clinical Supervision sessions, so that both you and your supervisor can see if you will get along well; meet your goals and aspirations; answer any other questions you may have and for the clinical supervisor to see if they are able to support your professional practice.
  • Are consultation sessions or clinical supervision sessions refundable?
    Yes and No. See next question for more information.
  • I am a student. Will l get a discount?
    Yes. 5% per session throughout the full duration of your studentship.
  • Will my Clinical Supervisor record my sessions?
    No. Your Clinical Supervisor will not record your sessions. However your Clinical Supervisor will make and keep notes of each session.

Consultation for 20 minutes is an opportunity to meet Christian, your Clinical Supervisor, who will talk with you, usually, via Zoom (video call) to determine what your needs are, explain more about the work involved and answer any questions you may have.
